How do we celebrate pongal

Pongal is one of the most famous southindian festival. Here is how we celebrate it in my inlaws home. Pongal is celebrated for 3 days of which 2nd day is the main festival during which rice is boiled with fresh milk and jaggery in new pots, which are later topped with brown sugar, cashew nuts and raisins early in the morning and allowing it to boil over the vessel. Later the cooked rice along with various vegetables is displayed in the front hall of the house in banana leaves in memory of our ancestors. The best part is, after that the food in the banana leaves will be share and ate by everybody in the house. To tell the truth, I havent tasted such a tasty food like that in my life.
The third day is for offering thanks to cattle, as they help farmer in different ways for agriculture. On this day the cattle are decorated with paint, flowers and bells. They are allowed to roam free and fed sweet rice and sugar cane .

My Experience at keelung

Hi all,

For the first time in my life I got in to a ship with my husband to meet his friend.I was so excited to see inside a ship . Sealife is something which I have not experienced in my life. It was so thrilling. It is not a passenger ship just a container ship. We went inside and there were lot of compartments, rooms and quite confusing to go around inside. Then we went to the place where ship captain manoeuver the ship. I tried ( not exactly..just for photo) controlling the ship.... Overall it was such a great experience eventhough i was little bit of seasick....

Why wedding ring wore on 4th finger very interesting !!

Hi guys!! I got this email from friend and it is very interesting !!!!!
Thumb represents your -- Parents
Second (Index) finger represents your -- Siblings
Middle finger represents your -- Self
Fourth (Ring) finger represents your -- Life Partner & Last (Little) finger represents your - Children
Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back
Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip (As shown in the figure )
Now, try to Separate your Thumbs (representing the parents)..., they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong (Sorry but its the Truth), and have to leave you sooner or later.
Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)... ., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives. Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)... ., they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.
Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse). You will be surprised to see that you just CAN NOT .., Coz Husband &Wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and thin.. !!
ISN'T THIS A LOVELY THEORY.. ??
