How do we celebrate pongal

Pongal is one of the most famous southindian festival. Here is how we celebrate it in my inlaws home. Pongal is celebrated for 3 days of which 2nd day is the main festival during which rice is boiled with fresh milk and jaggery in new pots, which are later topped with brown sugar, cashew nuts and raisins early in the morning and allowing it to boil over the vessel. Later the cooked rice along with various vegetables is displayed in the front hall of the house in banana leaves in memory of our ancestors.The best part is, after that the food in the banana leaves will be share and ate by everybody in the house. To tell the truth, I havent tasted such a tasty food like that in my life.

The third day is for offering thanks to cattle, as they help farmer in different ways for agriculture. On this day the cattle are decorated with paint, flowers and bells. They are allowed to roam free and fed sweet rice and sugar cane .

My Chinese Class!!!!

One Month before joining IMBA i attened chinese classes. It was one of the most unforgettable experience in my life. I really had a great fun in the class and got good friends .Teachers were so excellent and we dint really feel bore of attending 7 hours of chinese class everyday . We also had one day dedicated for culture class , where we had lot of activities like painting,tea party, and also games..

Two teachers whome we all cant forget is Mr.Qiu laoshi(pharoh) and Miss.wu laoshi(carol).We had a great time with them.Pharaoh took us to taipei and we enjoyed there in danshui the whole day and we tried different kind of chinese food and drinks.

Wu laoshi took us to teppanyakki and introduced one of the tasty taiwanese dessert called mango shaved ice.It was full of mango,milk,sugar,ice which is crushed .It was so delicious.

My Experience at keelung

Hi all,

For the first time in my life I got in to a ship with my husband to meet his friend.I was so excited to see inside a ship . Sealife is something which I have not experienced in my life. It was so thrilling. It is not a passenger ship just a container ship. We went inside and there were lot of compartments,rooms and quite confusing to go around inside.Then we went to the place where ship captain manoeuver the ship. I tried ( not exactly..just for photo) controlling the ship.... Overall it was such a great experience eventhough i was little bit of seasick....
