1litre milk
1cup Rice
6 tbsp almonds /cashews
5 tbsp skinned pistachio nuts (chopped)(optional)
5 tbsp raisins (optional)
Sugar around 1 cup and then u can taste and add more.
Keep milk in a thick bottom pan. When it boils put the rice which is cleaned and soaked for 30 mins.Simmer gently till the rice is soft and milk thickens and stirring in between so that it doesn’t sticks to bottom.Add the almonds, pistachios and raisins and sugar and stir till the sugar completely dissolves.Serve hot or chilled.
I loved this dessert Abi, thank you for sharing the recipe. It makes me go back home, and when my mother used to cook a similar dessert for us and she used to give us for breakfast when I was merely a child. I will try it and inform you if I did a good job. Thanks.
